Support Groups

Support Groups are designed to provide education and support to patients and families affected by Parkinson disease, as well as other interested individuals. We organize monthly meetings where we invite healthcare professionals to discuss their area of expertise and entertain questions from the group. Our members appreciate an open time for discussion with exchange of information and coping strategies.

If you think you may benefit from being a member of one of the following support groups, please contact the Client Services Coordinator listed for that group. Support Groups meet once a month for 90 minutes and will be cancelled if they fall on a Statutory Holiday.

  • Do you need advice about Aids to Daily Living?
  • Are you worried about your partner’s loss of independence?
The people that attend the Mild-Moderate Caregiver Support Group have moderate care-receivers at home. They discuss the possibility of bringing in aids to daily living and what’s next in their partner’s disease progression. They often need to deal with transportation issues and taking on a more integrated care-giver role.
