Parking for Parkinson’s in Edmonton
Parking for Parkinson's took place in July, and while the weather didn’t cooperate, many people still came out to check out the classic cars and trucks, motorcycles and even a “Back to the Future” DeLorean! The rain eventually let up and even more people came out to enjoy the entertainment, hot breakfast, silent auction, music and a BBQ dinner. Way to go Bruce Spencer, Sue Vienneau and crew!!!
INDY Racing in Edmonton
Also in July, PAS's Edmonton Office found themselves the thick of the exciting and fast-paced world of INDY Racing! A call came in asking if we would consider selling programs for the Edmonton INDY as a fundraiser. Needless to say, we jumped at the chance. So from July 22nd – 24th, 30 volunteers sold programs in rain (Fri) and glorious sunshine (Sat & Sun) while taking in the exhilarating and bone rattling sport of INDY. For our efforts we raised $3,271 and began an exciting partnership with Octane Motorsports Events that will continue at next year’s INDY!!
August 27th was the inaugural Shooting for Parkinson’s event at the Edmonton Gun Club. Approximately 40 people spent a beautiful summer afternoon “setting their sights” on raising money for Parkinson disease. A steak BBQ and the handing out of prizes wrapped up a wonderful day.
