Exercise Classes

Plenty of research backs up the fact that regular exercise can do wonders for your health.

  • Exercising regularly boosts the power of neurotransmittors in your brain to enhance your mood and your ability to see life in a more positive light.
  • Exercise can relieve the muscle tension from your body’s natural instinct to lock up in the face of challenges or battles.
  • Exercise can enhance your self-image, which can lead to greater self-assurance and confidence, which can lead to a greater ability to deal with life’s stresses.
People with PD who exercise regularly seem to experience a milder and less progressive disease process. In fact, exercise may be as good for brain function as it is for heart and weight factors. Recent laboratory experiments on animals have shown that physical exercise can potentially reduce the rate at which brain cells die. Further studies are under way to see whether regular exercise can actually slow the progression of PD. (source: Parkinson’s Disease for Dummies)
