Reduced prices for existing generic drugs
The Government of Alberta has taken another step to reduce generic drug costs. Effective April 1, the price of currently
available or existing generic drugs will be reduced from 75 per cent to 56 per cent of the price of comparable
brand name drugs. Existing generic drugs are generic drugs already included on our Alberta Drug Benefit List
as of October 1, 2009.

have posted information on their websites concerning the availability of some of the drugs they manufacture and/or
distribute.

Shortage of Sinemet in Canada
The generic product, Apo-levocarb CR 200/50 has been discontinued by Apotex.
As a result due to higher demand for the regular Sinemet, there is a shortage of some products.

New Client Services Coordinator in Lethbridge - Marilyn Dechief
Thank you to all of our members in Southwestern Alberta for their patience while we filled the vacant position of Client
Services Coordinator in Lethbridge. Marilyn Dechief comes to PSSA with post secondary education and experience in the
fields of education, youth and family support, psychology and nursing. She possesses a passion for helping others to
develop strength and confidence, thus assisting them in overcoming challenges.
She is available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:30 till 4:30
