Parkinson Alberta Society hosts many events during the course of the year. Here are some of the highlights of our events over the past 12 months:
A Celebration of Excellence 2011
In an event hosted by Parkinson Alberta Society on November 23, 2011, Alberta researcher Dr. Clinton McCracken, a post-doctoral fellow from the University of Calgary’s Hotchkiss Brain Institute received a $100,000 grant from Parkinson Society Canada to further his research in deep brain stimulation (DBS).

Parkinson SuperWalk 2011
A Super SuperWalk Weekend Across Alberta. Alberta Raises over $308,000 for Support and Research for People Living with Parkinson disease. After years of great Parkinson SuperWalks, clients, caregivers, family, friends and staff across the province were looking forward to our next great event — and we got one!

Hope Conference 2011
Paving Your Path to Wellness. The 2011 Hope Conference took place on June 3rd and 4th in Calgary, at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino. This year’s conference with the theme, “Paving Your Path to Wellness”, was designed to empower people living with Parkinson’s by providing an opportunity for social interaction, education and community support. Over 200 people attended the two day event.

Parkinson Alberta partners has benefitted from the support of many corporations, community groups and individuals who create amd run events to raise funds for PAS. Over the course of the year, some partner events have included, Parking for Parkinson's, Shooting for Parkinson's, the INDY Race and the Britt Land Services Silent Auction.
